Leagues Cup

The Leagues Cup has established itself as the definitive stage for the rivalry between MLS and LIGA MX. This annual tournament, held at venues across the United States, Canada, and for the first time in 2026, Mexico, brings together 36 teams: all 18 LIGA MX clubs and 18 qualified MLS teams. The competition not only offers a coveted trophy but also serves as a qualification pathway to the Concacaf Champions Cup, with the top three teams securing their participation. The tournament's format is designed to maximize excitement, featuring an initial phase of direct inter-league matchups followed by knockout rounds. Every match is decisive, as there are no ties; drawn games are settled by a penalty shootout, adding extra drama to each encounter and ensuring an unforgettable fan experience.
